The General Communications Technician (GCT-1) program is customizable “hands-on” instruction modeled after the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidelines that cover all of the disciplines listed in the COMT program and the APCO/ANSI technician standards. This three-day course covers all areas that today’s radio communications technician/engineer in the LMR public safety or business/commercial communications field will encounter. This course is designed to include beginners, as well as senior level technicians and engineers. Nowhere else will you ever receive this much comprehensive training in such a short time.
This course is designed to comply with the ELECTRONICS TECHNICIANS ASSOCIATION (ETA), and exceed COMT, and the APCO / ANSI training standards. This class is taught with the participants using state-of-the-art test equipment. This course covers all of the areas that today’s land mobile radio communications technician / engineer in the public safety or business / commercial communications field will encounter.

- The critical aspects of LMR that you need to know
- Radio theory that is easily understandable
- Hands-on troubleshooting using state-of-the-art test equipment
- All of the technical competencies contained in the DHS COMT
- All core competencies found in APCO / ANSI 3.107.1.2015 communications technicians standard
- FCC / FAA rules and regulations
- Safety in the work environment
