APCO Announces Final Approval and Publication of Revised and Redesignated American National Standard on Wireless 9-1-1 Deployment and Management of Effective Practices Guide

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International received final approval from the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) for publication of the APCO ANS 1.103.3-2022 Wireless 9-1-1 Deployment and Management of Effective Practices Guide on November 7, 2022.

The revision and redesignation of this standard provides emergency communications center management with a better understanding of the wireless 9-1-1 technology application assisting them to better manage wireless calls.

“As wireless calls continue to surpass wireline calls, the challenges related to location accuracy are in the forefront of public safety communication,” said Angela R. Batey, President of APCO International. “APCO continues to meet and address these challenges, specifically with the revision of this standard by providing the most up to date information related to wireless 9-1-1 deployments.”
