APCO Files a Project Initiation and Seeks Work Group Members to Revise the Standard for Multi-Functional, Multi-Discipline Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Minimum Functional Requirements

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has filed a Project Initiation with ANSI and has issued a call for participation for working group members to participate in the revision of APCO ANS for Multi-Functional, Multi-Discipline Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Minimum Functional Requirements. The revision and redesignation of this standard provides public safety agencies with tools to assist them in planning and preparing the Request for Proposal (RFP) accurately meeting the needs of their emergency communications center (ECC).

The current standard APCO ANS 1.110.1-2015 Multi-Functional Multi-Discipline Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Minimum Functional Requirements can found on the APCO Standards for Download page.

“To better serve emergency communications professionals, it is imperative that this standard go through the revision process,” said APCO International President Jason Kern. “Identifying functional requirements is essential for preparing a proper RFP specific to the needs of the ECC.”

APCO International is looking for a well-balanced group that will include contributions from training, technical and operational subject matter experts from the public safety communications realm. All interested persons should complete the online application and indicate their preference for this working group at the Working Group Sign Up page.

The deadline is January 15, 2022. Selections will be made within two weeks of the deadline and all applicants will be notified of their status.
