APCO Seeks Comments on Candidate American National Standard for Advanced Automatic Collision Notification (AACN) Vehicle Emergency Data Set (VEDS)

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is seeking comments for the candidate American National Standard (ANS) for Advanced Automatic Collision Notification (AACN) Vehicle Emergency Data Set (VEDS).

This new standard provides a common data set that can be used to deliver AACN data to emergency communication centers (ECCs) and responders. AACN data set determines useful and critical data elements needed to provide an efficient emergency response to vehicle emergency incidents.

“The data elements provide essential information to the responders and to the patient care chain of survival,” said Jason Kern, APCO International President. “This standard allows multiple methods of data transfer and handling.”

The public may review and comment on this candidate standard from March 11, 2022, until April 25, 2022.   Reviewers may use the following link to access the document for review and comment:
