Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is seeking comments for the candidate American National Standard (ANS) for the revision of Wireless 9-1-1 Deployment and Management Effective Practices Guide.
This revision ensures the standard continues to provide emergency communication centers (ECC) managers, directors, and other leadership with a better understanding of the wireless 9-1-1 technology application and the ability to better manage wireless calls as well as responder expectations.
“Wireless calls far surpass landline calls in today’s world and the challenges related to location accuracy continue as we move forward,” said Angela Batey, President of APCO International. “This revision ensures the leaders and frontline personnel within an ECC have access to the most current information related to wireless 9-1-1 and identifies effective practices.”
The public may review and comment on this candidate standard from September 2, 2022 through October 17, 2022 via the APCO website at APCO Standards Review and Comment.
