Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has filed a Project Initiation with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to revise APCO American National Standard (ANS) Core Competencies and Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Communications Quality Assurance Evaluators. This revision seeks to identify the fundamental skills and minimum training prerequisites for those tasked with evaluating the quality of work performed by an emergency communications center (ECC). A working group will be established and subject matter experts with training, technical, and operational knowledge are encouraged to join.

All interested persons, including producers, users and those with general interest, should complete the online application indicating their preference for this working group at Join a Working Group. The working group will meet twice monthly, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Individuals accepted as members of the working group will have the opportunity to leverage their participation toward their Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) recertification.
The deadline to sign up is April 7, 2024. Selections will be made within a few weeks of the deadline date, and all will be notified of their status via email.
