APCO’s Senior Counsel provided an overview of some of APCO’s top legislative and regulatory priorities – the 9-1-1 SAVES Act, the PROTECT 9-1-1 Act, 9-1-1 location accuracy, and network outage notifications – and a panel of 9-1-1 professionals described how these issues impact emergency communications centers. On the issue of fixing the federal classification of 9-1-1 professionals, Ms. Gordon said, “These men and women give lifesaving instruction and not recognizing them as a protective service occupation is an insult.”
