More ECCs and CAD Vendors Join the ASAP Program: Keystone Public Safety and Southern Software Now ASAP Certified

The Raleigh-Wake County (N.C.) Emergency Communications Center (RWECC) is the 74th ECC in the United States and 10th ECC in the state of North Carolina to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). RWECC went live with Rapid Response at 8 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 7, followed by Vector Security, Quick Response, ADS, Alert360, Tyco, Affiliated Monitoring, National Monitoring Center(NMC), AT&T Digital Life, Brinks Home Security, Protection One, Guardian Protection Vivint and Holmes Security. ADT, CPI Security, Security Central and Wegmans Security will go live with RWECC in the near future.

The Murfreesboro TN Police Department Emergency Communications (MEC) is the 78th ECC in the United States and 7th ECC in the state of Tennessee to implement the ASAP program

The Ontario County (N.Y.) 9-1-1 Center is the 75th ECC in the United States to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Ontario County went live with Vector Security and Rapid Response Monitoring at 9 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 13. A second wave of companies went live with Ontario County on Friday, November 6, including Amherst Alarm, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring  Center, Protection One, Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, and Doyle. ADT brought the go-live to completion on Monday, November 9. The Ontario County  go-live is representative as the first implementation site for its newly ASAP-certified CAD vendor: Keystone Public Safety, based in Maple Shade NJ.

The 76 ECC to implement ASAP, Ramsey County (Minn.), and the opening of Minnesota to ASAP traffic was previously reported in APCO’s eNews on October 30, 2020.

Martinsville-Henry County (Va.) is the 77th ECC in the United States and 14th ECC in the state of Virginia to implement ASAP. The implementation was completed in two phases. The first phase concluded with the certification of Martinsville-Henry County’s CAD vendor, Southern Software Inc, based in Southern Pines (N.C.), and the go-live of two alarm companies, Vector Security and Rapid Response Monitoring on October 20, 2020. The second phase was completed on November 2, 2020, with the go-live of Affiliated Monitoring, ADT, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Richmond Alarm, Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), and Vivint.

“The Martinsville-Henry County 9-1-1 center is excited to be a part of the ASAP to PSAP implementation in Virginia,” said Tierra Dillard, Deputy Director. “We feel the ASAP to PSAP service is going to aid in reducing the amount of time it takes to dispatch an alarm call to the appropriate police, fire, or EMS agency in our area. Our center is dedicated to keeping up with technological advances in the 9-1-1 field and we feel the ASAP to PSAP program is a great enhancement for the 9-1-1 community.”

A Southern Software representative added, “Southern Software is pleased to offer partner agencies an option for an ASAP interface.  We believe this interface aids in the reduction of transcription errors as well as increasing the speed of call handling and public safety response for ASAP participating monitoring company originated alarm calls.”

The MEC went live with Rapid Response at 8 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 29, followed by Vector Security, Guardian Protection, Alert360, Security Central, ESC Central, Tyco, Affiliated Monitoring, Protection One, ADS, AT&T Digital Life, Vivint, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, and ADT. CPI Security will go live with the MEC in the near future.
