Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is pleased to announce that 82 APCO members were selected as recipients of the APCO’s Silent Key and Commercial Partner Scholarship Program. Scholarships totaling nearly $80,000 were awarded to APCO’s members to further their professional development in the field of emergency communications.
The scholarship program supports APCO members in their pursuit of educational opportunities offered by the APCO Institute, offering access to continuing education courses and leadership programs. The scholarships are made possible through the generous contributions of partners and supporters, including the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions.
“We are thrilled to award scholarships to these deserving members who have shown dedication and commitment to advancing their careers in emergency communications,” said APCO International President Becky Neugent. “These scholarships will enable recipients to access valuable educational resources offered by the APCO Institute, empowering them to continue their professional growth and contribute to the safety and well-being of their communities.”
The APCO Institute Advisory Committee reviewed and scored all scholarship applications. The scholarships were awarded to APCO members representing all professional levels in the emergency communications industry, including frontline personnel, supervisors, managers, and other public safety professionals who play a vital role in public safety communications.
Applications for next year’s scholarships will open on January 1, allowing members to continue investing in their careers and enhancing their contributions to public safety.
