APCO member and Polk County (Georgia) E-911 Director Crystal Gail Vincent, 46, of Cedartown, passed away January 28 after an extended illness.
Vincent had worked with Polk County 911 for over 26 years and has served as director since June 2017. During her time with Polk County E-911, she assisted thousands of individuals in times of crisis, served as a mentor to many public safety telecommunicators and was always willing to help others in need.
Polk County issued a statement on its Facebook page saying Vincent recently played an instrumental role in upgrading the county’s public safety communications system.
“She was a fantastic public servant and was always devoted to the field of public safety,” the county wrote in its Facebook post. “Crystal Vincent was a joy to work with and she served the citizens of Polk County very well! She will be missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire others at Polk County 9-1-1.”
Vincent was survived by husband Curtis Vincent; son Jayden Perry; brother Anthony “Bo” Perry; and sister Angela Arp.
