Larissa Michelle Johnson George, APCO member and CAD manager for Greene County (Georgia) 911, passed away Jan. 16 at the age of 41.
After graduation, she became a public safety telecommunicator for Greene County 911 and worked there for 22 years. She was promoted to administrative assistant and CAD manager. She served as an EMT for 15 years and was a member of the EMA and Hazmat team. She volunteered for the Union Point Fire Department for 10 years.
George attended school at Bethel Baptist and graduated from Athens Technical College. She married Joshua Darnell George on Feb. 2, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, of Union Point; mother, Lisa Johnson and father, Kenneth Johnson. She is also survived by two sons, Wyatt George and Desmond Moore; and sister Sara Johnson.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, Greensboro, Georgia. Honorary pallbearers will be her 9-1-1 and EMT co-workers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family.
