Lysa Renee Baker, RPL, CPE, passed away Jan. 26 in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 48. Baker served in public safety for more than 25 years, marked by notable achievements. Her roles ranged from 9-1-1 public safety telecommunicator to instructor, reflecting her diverse expertise and commitment to excellence. She served in the Bethany Police Department. In addition to her APCO certifications, Baker earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma where she studied criminal justice and communications. She was an APCO member since 2010.
Baker is survived by her daughter Kalynn, mother Roxanne and sister Amy Tharp.
